Atlantic City Alternative Energy Task Force

Mission and Objectives

• Assist Mayor and Council with the investigation, research and utilization of alternative forms of energy and with conserving energy for municipal purposes to result in demonstrated tax payer savings.
• Generate energy for sale, resale, or distribution to or by commercial or nonprofit electrical suppliers, wholesalers, distributors or directly to end users for taxpayer benefit.
• Serve as a clearinghouse of information for Atlantic City citizens to provide guidance and opportunities to incorporate alternative energy and energy conservation into homes and businesses.
• Identify and pursue collaborative opportunities between all segments of government to achieve mutually beneficial alternative solutions to energy production and consumption.
• Partner with agencies and governments to market and educate awareness of conservation and alternative energy solutions
• Collaborate with efforts to enroll and train individuals to qualify for and obtain employment opportunities in the emerging alternativie energy industries
• Review, update and implement energy planning for City facilities
• Serve as an example of dedication and performance toward the reduction of fossil fuel consumption, carbon and greenhouse gas emissions.
